Pediatric Crowns

Pediatric crowns on primary teeth are much different than adult crowns. Under certain situations when a cavity is large, on multiple surfaces of a baby tooth, or close to the nerves of a tooth a pediatric crown may be needed. Cavities are removed and pediatric crowns are placed in the same appointment. Pediatric crowns are strong, durable, and often last the the lifetime of the baby tooth. These crowns naturally fall out when ready, just as a normal primary tooth.

Wellspring Pediatric Dentistry offers several different options of pediatric crowns. The crowns offered are either stainless steel (mercury free), all white zirconia, or all white resin crowns. There are various pros/cons among the different types of crowns and Dr. Mehta is happy to discuss these options with you if your child requires a pediatric crown.
