Dr. Mehta couldn’t be happier as a pediatric dentist—as a mother herself, she loves getting to work with kids every day and helping them smile! Whether it’s a baby coming in for their first appointment, a child about to start school, or a teen who is thinking about college, her goal is to make sure her young patients are able to stay healthy and thrive as they reach each milestone. Dr. Mehta loves her community and is a resident of Katy. She’s eager to get to know you and your family, but first, you can learn more about her below!
Why Did You Decide to Become a Dentist?
As a child, Dr. Mehta was fascinated by the work her dentist did, and she found the profession to be extremely intriguing. This interest eventually guided her toward dental school, and her passion for serving children made it an easy decision to pursue further training in pediatric dentistry.
Where Did You Study Dentistry?
Dr. Mehta was born and raised in the Windy City of Chicago. She received her Bachelor of Science in Biology with a minor in Spanish from the University of Illinois Chicago (UIC). She followed her passion for dentistry and earned her dental degree from UIC as well.
While in dental school, Dr. Mehta earned numerous honors, including the Albert Schweitzer Fellowship (which involved providing over over 200 hours of education and training focused on children with special healthcare needs), American Academy of Esthetic Dentistry Award, American Academy of Orofacial Pain Award, and the Isaac Schour Research Scholarship. She was also inducted into the Omicron Kappa Upsilon National Dental Honors Society, which is only offered to the highest-performing dental students.
Dr. Mehta continued her education at UIC where she completed her specialty training in pediatric dentistry while also getting her Masters in Oral Sciences, during which she served as Chief Resident. She has achieved the highest level of education in pediatric dentistry and is a Diplomate of the American Board of Pediatric Dentistry. Today, she is certified in laser dental treatment and was named one of America’s Top Dentists!

Outside of the Dental Office, What Do You Like to Do?
Dr. Mehta lives with her husband, also a board-certified specialist, and they are the proud parents of two young boys! Following her passion for the arts, Dr. Mehta is fluent in Spanish and even lived in Spain for a time. When she isn’t spending quality time with family, she likes to exercise, do yoga, cook healthy meals, and travel. You may even see her going for a run or cycling around Katy.
