Why Did You Decide to Become a Periodontist?
Dr. Patel was drawn to dentistry because it offered a unique combination of science, hands-on care, and meaningful relationships with patients. As he continued his education, he developed a strong interest in periodontics and the opportunity to help patients save their teeth, improve their oral health, and regain confidence in their smiles.
Where Did You Study Periodontics?
Dr. Patel completed both his undergraduate and graduate education at the University of Illinois. He later earned a Master of Science degree and a Certificate of Advanced Specialty in Periodontics through the university's residency program.
In addition to caring for patients, Dr. Patel has contributed to dental education as a clinical faculty member at the UTHealth Houston School of Dentistry and as an attending at Eastern Colorado Healthcare. He is also certified in the Pinhole Surgical Technique™ as well as oral and IV sedation. Dr. Patel remains active in several professional organizations, including:

Outside of the Dental Office, What Do You Like to Do?
Dr. Patel enjoys spending time with his wife—a dentist—and their two sons. When he is not in the office, he enjoys traveling, biking, and exploring the outdoors with his family. He is naturally curious and loves learning how things work and how people think!
